PROJECT MANAGEMENT; AN INDISPENSABLE TOOL FOR SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS SUCCESS(2)

MANAGING CONSTRAINTS FOR SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE
Constraint in human existence is a definite reality. In our individual, corporate and National life, we need to find effective and efficient ways of doing much more with less. We would always need more money, more time, more health etc. However, superior existence in our humanity demands that we ask how can we do much more with less? As individuals and businesses blessed with numerous resources, how can we achieve more with what we have? For us to truly advance as a nation, this is key and pivotal to our quest for Individual and Corporate Emancipation. Professional Project Management provides us with time tested ways of doing much more with less. As a methodology it takes into full cognizance the role of constraints in achieving our objectives and gives us the answers needed to ensure our success. Instead of Constraints being a disadvantage, Project management helps us to manage and convert it to our advantage.

They are Cost, Time and scope; popularly called the triple constraint. The fulfillment of our set objectives hinges very strongly on the fulcrum those levers on these three major factors. Of course, in recent times, others have emerged (customer satisfaction, risk and quality). This is known as the enhanced Constraint list in project management. Project management philosophy and methodology is the absolute answer to managing constraints in our private and corporate lives in the implementation of our plans to generate our desired outcomes.
